  • Aphasia
    • Aphasia is a language problem that mask's a person's inherent competence, and most dramatically affects conversational interaction (talking & understanding), as well as the ability to read and write
  • Apraxia
    • Apraxia may result after an individual has experienced a brain injury, such as a stroke or TBI. With Apraxia the individual knows exactly what they would like to say but the signal can not be sent from the brain to the motor muscles for speech.  The individual may be able to do things spontaneously (ie. blowing out a candle) but not on demand.

  • Dysarthria
    • Dysarthria is a motor speech disorder. It results from impaired movement of the muscles used for speech production, including the lips, tongue, vocal folds and/or diaphragm.  This makes people with dysarthria difficult to understand

  • Dysphagia
    • Dysphagia is difficulty swallowing food or liquids.
